Having been a self-employed contractor for nearly 20 years, our founder, Nicola Wakeman, has herself experienced the negative and frustrating challenges of the recruitment industry and processes. So, we understand how hard it can be for candidates in finding the right job. From not gaining feedback on role applications and even interviews, to extensive form filling, to fully remote (and sometimes one-sided) engagement with recruitment consultants, searching for a job can be long and painful!
On top of this there can be challenges encountered once starting a new position regarding work environment and suitability of a company to match your needs and aspirations.
We want to serve local candidates, not just local businesses. Candidates are the life source of our business and of equal importance to EQC as our clients. The foundations of EQC are built on client and candidate relationships. Our core principles are based on only working with clients whom can show commitment to, equality, diversity, inclusion and employee wellbeing.
We can be more sure of this than other recruitment consultancies as we are only serving our local area, therefore, all our client engagement is face-to-face, comprehensive and based on our knowledge of their integrity.
Equally as important to us, is our relationship with you - our candidates. The same philosophy applies in that our first engagement with you will be face-to-face. We commit to always providing you with feedback and we will not 'ghost' you. In addition to your CV, we will request you to complete a short candidate assessment which includes personality, motivation and situational judgement questions. This, in addition to highlighting your skills and achievements over generic job responsibilities and qualifications alone, is what we think can widen the options for candidates and clients alike.
Our primary business recruits for temporary, contract and permanent positions in the Energy and Construction industries, however, we are open to engage with other industries and professions when a candidate specifies.
Our only conditions are that the industry or profession is based locally, in the Gloucestershire area, and that we identify potential companies that hold the values that align with our core principles.
Our only true candidate requirement is a robust work-ethic. We believe that everyone that wants to work deserves to have a job they enjoy, in an environment where they feel considered and included. It is motivating and helps us be the best version of ourselves both inside and out of work. Sometimes there are great jobs which we feel are not accessible to all of us, even if just implicitly. We want to help change the realities of equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and, so, WHATEVER your situation, background or personal characteristics - we want you to get in touch with us. Whether you're actively looking for work now, or just want to keep an eye on the local job market.
When we engage with you as a new candidate, we want to discuss and agree your openness to career diversification, which involves exploring new roles, expanding your skill-set and adapting to different industries or projects, rather than solely focusing on a single career path. We want to know if you are open to developing as a versatile and resilient professional by learning new skills and embracing continuous learning. This approach can allow you to unlock new opportunities and stay relevant in an ever-changing job market. We believe this could be the key to career fulfilment at a time when employers are having to be open to transferable skills to fill significant resource demands, both for now and for the future.
We are a new business in the process of establishing clients and roles for hire. Once we are fully established with a regular pipeline of roles, we will be launching a job search page here on our website. In the meantime, we want to build our own candidate database so you can be the first to hear of roles whilst our job search function is developed. So, if you want to register with us for current and/or future positions, or just want to talk through your future job aspirations, please email me using the link below, so we can arrange a meeting. Alternatively, you can find my contact number on the Home page.
