Understanding your resource needs via initial and continuous dialogue is essential.
We are building a database of Gloucestershire candidates to match your roles to local people. GlosJobs.co.uk has over 130,000 unique users, there are local job seekers out there! We have connections with BBC Radio Gloucester, whom we are looking to establish a partnership with for advertising our business and request for candidates to get in touch with us. We are also working to establish connections with local charities and education institutions including Women in Construction, Gloucestershire Local Careers Hub and University of Gloucestershire. In addition, we want to help ex-offenders and so are working to connect with the New Futures Network, noting:
86% of employers of ex-offenders rate them as good at their job
92% of employers say diverse recruitment has enhanced their reputation, helping them win new contracts.
We will only present candidates whom we have met in person to establish personal connections, facilitate a deeper understanding of our candidates, and allow for more accurate assessments of fit for roles. Our candidate assessments will be based on a structured approach that includes identification of skills, personal attributes and attitude to the workplace. We feel this mitigates a 'bad hire' scenario where referrals and placements have only been based on CVs and remote/virtual engagement. Candidates based locally not only ensures the recruiting process can be conducted in-person, but also better facilitates fulltime onsite and hybrid working arrangements and work/life balance for your future employees.
Fundamentally, we value our relationships with candidates, as well as our clients.
Our foundational experience lies within the Nuclear and Engineering industry, however, we want to expand our core business to also include the Construction industry. Both of these industries are prominent and active in the Gloucestershire area, and will be key to local economic growth.
Whilst the Engineering and Construction industries will be a significant focus for EQC, we also want to support those very early on in their careers and those that may have little to no relevant skill-set. On that basis, we also want to partner with micro - small local businesses that can offer this first step on the skills development ladder.
Our partnership does not stop with clients. In demonstration of the value we place in our candidates and being able to present varied, diverse and multiple candidate options to our clients, we are also working to establish partnerships with local charities, Gloucester Council and higher education institutes to offer a potential link into employment for those that need it.
Our commitment to only sourcing employees locally is beneficial to the local economy and community, helping you to demonstrate social responsibility and fosters a positive view of your business. Not only do we use CVs, but we also conduct candidate assessments so you can be better informed about the individual and potential suitability to your business but this also helps to open up a wider more diverse pool of talent, whereby you can be better informed about the person and not just the qualifications. EQC is also actively involved in the community (see our Community page) and if you can support our business by working with us, that means we can give more back to the community via sponsorships, donations and volunteering. Finally, EQC is headed by Nicola Wakeman who comes into the Recruitment business with a different perspective. Her 20 years work experience as a consultant Project Manager has involved many interactions with and use of recruitment agencies – as a candidate and a client. This enables a different perspective and approach, which aims to address the sometimes negative views and experiences of clients and candidates alike.
Upon connection with a potential client, we would offer the following process from presentation of our services to definition of your candidate specification and the recruitment process:
